27 years ago, Necaxa won its first championship against Cruz Azul

Today is an important day in the history of the Club, because on June 4, 1995, the Rayos lifted the League title for the first time in the professional era and we could say that the team began to write story in the 90´s with this championship.

Necaxa reached the Liguilla as fourth place in the general ranking. In the quarterfinals the Rayos dominated and with a score of 4-1 in the general table they left Tecos out of the tournament. In the semifinals Necaxa faced Chivas who was the leader in the ranking, the score was 1-1 and with an away goal our team advanced in the tournament.

The final was against Cruz Azul. In the first leg the score was 1-1, and Cruz Azul was the favorite to win, but in the second leg Necaxa surprised by endind the match with a goal from Alex Aguinaga.

 After 27 years, Necaxa has won three league titles.
